And it's on to phase three, well part two of the Pekin Parade anyway, but in between we built a further 6 pens for the smaller breeds of Bantams. Here though has been a much awaited project to get underway.
The ground here is significantly lower than the first four Pekin houses, so it was a chance to use old sand and gravel used in the Growers Pen as a base before the concrete mix was added.
After hard work Paul and Kevin both had the concrete laid for the base of the next four Pekin houses.
These will house the Salmon, Cuckoo Frizzles, Chocolate Frizzles and Black Pekins that we have grown on this year.
It certainly makes a great deal of difference when you see the chooks happily digging around in the gravel having the wind blowing through their tail feathers, which during the tail end of the hurricaine they have certainly had over the last two days!
